Your First AI Video
In this tutorial, we'll create a short 30-second video from scratch using ACT3 AI.
What We'll Build
A dramatic 30-second opening sequence: a lone figure walks into an abandoned warehouse at night.
Scene: Night. Exterior and interior of an abandoned industrial warehouse. Mood: Tense, cinematic, noir-influenced. Shots: 4 shots, approximately 7-8 seconds each.
Step 1: Create the Project
- Log in at act3ai.com
- Click New Project
- Name it "Warehouse Scene Tutorial"
- Select 16:9 widescreen
- Click Create
Step 2: Define the Scene
In the Script editor, create one scene:
EXT. ABANDONED WAREHOUSE - NIGHT
A lone figure approaches an industrial warehouse.
Streetlights cast long shadows. The building is dark.
ACT3 AI will parse this automatically.
Step 3: Define Your Shots
For this scene, add 4 shots:
Shot 1 — Establishing Drone
- Type: Extreme wide
- Camera: Drone
- Movement: Push in from above, descending
- Lens: 24mm
- Lighting: Night, available streetlight, high contrast
Shot 2 — Figure Approaching
- Type: Wide
- Camera: Steadicam
- Movement: Tracking with figure
- Lens: 35mm
- Lighting: Backlit by distant streetlight
Shot 3 — Detail — Hands on Door
- Type: Extreme close-up
- Camera: Locked-off
- Movement: Static
- Lens: 85mm
- Lighting: Low key, single practical source
Shot 4 — Interior Reveal
- Type: Wide
- Camera: Dolly
- Movement: Push in
- Lens: 24mm
- Lighting: Darkness with shaft of light from doorway
Step 4: Generate
Select all 4 shots, choose Veo 3, and click Generate All.
Wait for generation to complete (typically 2-3 minutes per shot).
Step 5: Assemble
Open the Timeline Editor. Drag your 4 shots in order. Add a subtle audio track — ambient industrial sounds and low tension music work well for this scene.
Export at 1080p for web delivery.
Congratulations — you've created your first AI film scene!
